This position assists the purchasing department by facilitating all product orders and maintaining accurate information between the store and the distributor.

Responsibilities

Duties

  • Works with team buyers to keep track of all new products by ensuring accurate completion of master list forms, adding all pertinent product details into AS400 software, processing new product paperwork, monitoring warehouse received items, POS system testing, etc.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains date files by utilizing “Just Enough” and AS400 software programs.
  • Maintains updated product data files to reflect accurate product costs and vender codes as provided by industry representatives.
  • Analyzes suggested product order quantities and creates preview orders.
  • Supports and assists with purchasing decisions and project goals by creating queries, spreadsheets, and other analytical tools.
  • Communicates with ABC Team Members and industry representatives regarding product information and facilitates set up of new product codes and updates data on current p-codes.
  • Coordinates initial order of new products and facilitates distributions to retail locations.
  • Identifies and resolves existing purchase order issues and communicates with supplier regarding urgent shipment needs to ABC.
  • Cooperates with all Store Support Center team members to offer support of store programs and item placement and promotion.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

Basic Product Knowledge ( Beer, Spirits, Wine, Cigars)

Working knowledge of AS/400, Excel, Access, Microsoft Word, Outlook

  • A person in this position is regularly required to sit at a work station for up to 8 hours and must be able to operate a desktop computer, phone, and frequently handle or touch paperwork or objects located in a typical office setting.
  • Occasionally needs to lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds of boxes, printed materials or various items short distances, to and from the normal work station.
  • Occasionally needs to move, position, and/or rotate themselves in a way to access items and/or objects on shelves and counters in harder to reach areas and/or below waist level or above shoulder level.
  • Occasionally needs to stand or walk short distances to areas that are not immediately accessible from the work station, such as the fax machine, printers or mailroom.
  • A person in this position frequently communicates, via phone and in person; to applicants, clients, and other Team Members of the organization and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
